Racing in Germany!

Mitch will be competing against 9 other drivers in Germany

Yepp, that’s right! I’m racing in Hannover, Germany on the 4th of March in the Intel GP Series on iRacing.com.

The series began a few months ago with regional finals for European, US/Canada and Australia/Asia. It was a week long series for each region with the top 10 at the end of the week going in to a regional final. For the European and US Finals the top 4 drivers go on to race in Germany, in Australia though you had to finish in the top 2.

I managed to finish within the top 5 at the end of the week, which entered me in for our Regional Final, from there I just had to finish that race in 2nd or better, which I managed to do!

So now, a few months on and I’ve got my passport oganised, accommodation booked and flights are set! Having never being overseas before this is going to be a trip of a life time. And to be lucky enough to be going to Germany to race for prize money, it can’t really get much better then this!

The race in Germany will be broadcast live over the internet on Friday 4th of March at 10:15am local time (8:00pm Melbourne). You can watch the event via this link.

I’ll do my best to keep you updated while in Germany. :)

Perfect Start to 2011

Mitchell McLeod leads the field in to turn one at Phillip Island

I know, it’s been a very long time since I last updated this site with anything, but I really have been busy!

Unfortunately it hasn’t been any ‘bum in seat’ racing. Between racing on iRacing.com and Nitro Buggys there’s been plenty of great racing.

The iRacing.com online V8 Supercar series is one I’ve been focusing on for a while now. Every season that’s been contested so far I’ve finished the championship in the top 3, but just not on the top step yet! So I’ve put in a little more time to try and see how I can go.

At the start of this season I had the momentum, winning the final round of the 2010 series at Phillip Island. This was very handy as the first round of this season was also at Phillip Island!

After two rounds so far this season I’ve managed two pole positions, and two race wins and am now leading the championship for the first time ever! I’ll be doing anything I can to keep it that way too!

The next race is Monday 21st of Feb and at the moment, it’s looking very much like I’ll have my 4th strait Pole position in a row, the 3rd this series! Anything can happen though as even though it’s sim racing, anything can still happen!

Be sure to check out the latest race results and championship standing over on the official V8 Supercar website.

First Races in Pro Buggy

Shepparton Nitro-X 2010

The last couple of weeks have been a bit of a learning curve for me in the Nitro Buggy world. I entered in one of the premier series in Victoria for Nitro Buggy racing which was my first big race meeting. To make things even harder on myself, I decided to move up out of Novice Buggy and into Pro Buggy.

The Nitro-X Series is held in each state of Australia, with the top qualifiers all coming to Shepparton later in the year to find out who is the best buggy racer in Australia.

I was a bit reluctant to move up into Pro Buggy after only 5 meetings in total, even more so at such a large event, but I believed that it’s the only way to improve faster.

Return to Karting

Mitchell McLeod in an Arrow Kart

Hello, I’m on a quest for sponsorship in order to go racing again!

There are a few meetings that are part of the Golden Power Series that are all fairly close to home. So competing in them would be much cheaper then going off overnight anywhere!

I’m offering websites in return for sponsorship so if you’re interested in supporting a young(ish) kart racer, or getting a website, or both! Then please contact me through this website!

Mitch.

First WordPress Template

Well it’s 12:36 and I’m a bit tired and frustrated!

But it’s worth it because I finally have my first Template looking half reasonable!

All this PHP is new to me and it’s kind of doing my head in but I think I’m slowly getting there! :)

Hopefully I’ll have it finished soon! :)
